PURCHASE, NY - The Purchase College women's tennis team topped St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn in a Skyline Conference match Saturday, 6-3.
With the win, the Panthers improved to 2-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Bears dropped to 2-5 and 0-3 respectively.
The hosts earned the victory behind stellar singles play, as they took five of the six contests. #1
Bianca Harris (SO/Montgomery, NY) won her first set, 6-1, before her opponent retired.

Maria Del Carmen Motyka (FR/New York, NY) survived in the three-set battles, while #3
Sonja Boyko (FR/Babylon, NY) and #4
Nicole Sliwinski (JR/Newington, CT) took their matches in straight sets.
Earlier in the afternoon, the #1 doubles team of Harris and DeCicco provided the other Panther victory, as they breezed 8-0.
Up next for the Panthers is the start of three-straight road conference games, with the first taking place at Farmingdale State College. The match is set for October 2nd at 4:30 p.m.
