PURCHASE, NY – In their second matchup of the season with the College of Mount Saint Vincent, the Purchase College women's basketball team suffered a 67-53 loss to the visiting Dolphins Saturday afternoon.
Action opened with six unanswered points from CMSV before Purchase sophomore guard
Shadai Plowden (Yonkers, NY) lit up the Panthers' side of the board with a layup at 4:41.
The Mount led 32-21 at halftime, and despite Purchase connecting on 4-of-8 triples in the third quarter, the visiting Dolphins continued to advance until the final buzzer.
Three Dolphins reached double-digit scoring to lead the charge. Kira Villegas netted a game-high 19 points, three assists and a pair of steals, while Victoria Hanley tallied a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. DarNeisha Brice chipped in with 10 points to cap the double-digit scoring.

Arta Krasniqi (SR/Bronx, NY) led with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.
Dejeana Peoples (SO/New York, NY) recorded 14 points and pulled down five boards and two steals, while Plowden paced the Panther defense with seven rebounds to go along with 12 points, four assists and three steals.
Up next, Purchase hosts league foe Farmingdale State. The Skyline matchup is slated for Tuesday (Jan. 28) at 8 p.m.
