PURCHASE, NY – The Purchase College women's basketball team suffered a Skyline Conference loss at the hands of the Manhattanville College Valiants Monday night at the Kennedy Gymnasium. The Panthers dropped the 2020 road opener by a score of 83-29.
The host Valiants (9-1, 5-1 SKY) used solid defense and scoring from 13 different players to secure the league victory. Their efforts included 35 points off the bench and a combined 26 assists and 17 steals.
Manhattanville's Sarah Coutu led the charge with 15 points and three rebounds. Faith Johnson-Desilivia produced 12 points, while Madison Fields and London Scott rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points apiece.
Purchase sophomore guard
Shadai Plowden (Yonkers, NY) led the Panthers (2-8, 1-4 SKY) with nine points and five rebounds. Junior guard
Dejeana Peoples (New York, NY) chipped in with seven points and a team-best six boards.
The Panthers are back on the road this Wednesday to take on the Dolphins of Mount Saint Vincent. The Skyline matchup is slated for 6 p.m.
