FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Farmingdale State scored six first-half goals en route to an 9-0 final against Purchase College Tuesday afternoon.
The Rams (10-7) remain undefeated in Skyline Conference play at 7-0, while the Panthers (4-8) fall to 2-6 in the league.
FSC opened the scoring only 24 seconds into the game on a goal by senior midfielder Cailyn Demarinis. In the minutes to follow, the Rams produced another two goals to take an early 3-0 lead.
Farmingdale would find the back of the net three more times to close the first half with a generous 6-0 advantage.
The Rams outshot the Panthers, 22-3, and held a 5-0 corner kick advantage in the opening 45 minutes.
In the second half, Julissa Martinez, Demarinis and freshman forward Johanna Heinen added goals as Farmingdale State went on for the 9-0 Skyline Conference victory.
Demarinis finished with a game-high four points on her two goals, while Martinez notched three points on a goal and an assist.
Purchase sophomore
Haley Cascio (Deer Park, NY) totaled 16 saves in the loss.
Up next, the Panthers will face the neighboring Manhattanville Valiants. The Skyline road game is slated for this Saturday at 1 p.m.
