PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's soccer team concluded its 2021 road sschedule at neighboring Manhattanville College Saturday afternoon.
Struggling to offset the Valiants' attack, Purchase fell to the No. 2 Skyline Conference team by a score of 8-1.
Manhattanville used five goal scorers in the game to fend off the Panthers, outshooting Purchase 46-2 on the afternoon.
The hosts tallied a pair of first-half goals and netted two more just minutes into the second stanza to take a comfortable 4-0 lead.

Kristen Purcell sent a stellar free kick sailing past netminder Steph Shalhoub to cut the Manhattanville lead to 4-1.
After a 16-minute scoring drought, the Valiant offense ignited with a trio of unanswered goals—all scored in less than four minutes—to widen the gap to six points. They would slash again at 82:36 en route to the 8-1 win.
Senior forward Ashley Hayes led the Valiants with a career-high six points. Kelly Barrera joined Hayes with a two-score afternoon, while Jennifer Xiong, Veronica Lage, and Jessica Wielgus each had a goal in the win.
Purchase will return to its home pitch on Wednesday (Oct. 27) for a season-finale game against No. 3 Mount Saint Mary College. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
