Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. – Purchase College women's tennis jumped back into the win column with a 6-3 Skyline Conference victory at neighboring Manhattanville College Sunday afternoon.

The host Valiants (2-2, 1-1 Skyline) recorded the win at first doubles, 8-1, before the Panthers (4-2, 2-1 Skyline) broke their scoring ice with an 8-6 win at second doubles and a win by walkover at the third position.

Holding the 2-1 advantage after doubles play, Purchase picked up two more wins by walkover at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

Manhattanville chipped away at the Panthers' lead, netting points at the top two positions, to come within one score of a tied match.

Purchase fired back, however, as Panther sophomore Kali Secrest (Hartsdale, NY) secured the match victory with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at No. 4 singles. Rookie teammate Olivia Menchell (FR/Weston, CT) closed the match at the No. 3 spot, battling through a super tiebreaker to come out victorious (4-6, 6-7, 10-5).

Up next, the Panthers will play host to the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College. The Skyline matchup is slated for Wednesday (Oct. 6) at 3 p.m.
