PURCHASE, N.Y. - An early first quarter run sunk the Purchase College women's basketball team Tuesday night, as the Panthers dropped the Skyline Conference matchup to St. Joseph's College-Long Island, 73-48.

To Purchase's credit, the hosts responded with four-straight points to closeout the quarter, cutting the margin to 13 points, 19-6.
Three minutes into the second quarter, the visitors extended their lead back to 16 points at 31-15, before the hosts answered with some offense of their own.

In the second half, the guests built on that advantage, pushing their lead to as many as 31 points, before settling for the 73-48 win.Â
