Softball Defeated Twice by Farmingdale State

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College softball team lost a pair of Skyline Conference contests Saturday afternoon, falling to the Rams of Farmingdale State College by the scores of 15-0 and 17-0.

With the results, the Panthers fell to 0-18 overall and 0-14 in Skyline action. Meanwhile, the Rams improved to 8-3 and 8-2, respectively.

In game one, senior Kelly Agostini (Centereach, NY) provided the only hit of day for the home team, as she singled up the middle on a 3-2 count in the first inning.

Zanaia Godette (SO/Queens, NY) and Brianna Palermo (SO/Hyde Park, NY) later reached base, as they each drew a walk in the effort.

For the Rams, they started hot with five runs in the opening inning, before proceeding to score in each frame afterwards, including five more runs in the third.

In game two, Farmingdale picked up right where it left off, scoring a run in the first, two in the second, eight in third, two in the fourth and four more in the fifth. The visitors also tossed a no-hitter in the win, as the lone baserunner for the Panthers came in the second inning, when Jaiya Hewitt (JR/Kingston, NY) reached via an error.

Up next for Purchase is a rematch with the Rams of Farmingdale State tomorrow (4/25), this time on the road. That doubleheader is scheduled to start at noon and you can follow it right here.
