NEW YORK, N.Y. - Purchase College women's lacrosse seniors Gabby Castles and Victoria Bongiovanni have been named to All-Skyline Conference teams to closeout their Purchase careers, it was announced Monday.

Castles (Bethpage, NY) claimed a spot on the All-Second Team after leading the Panthers in every major category in 2021, including points (17), goals (13), assists (4), shots (27), draw controls (18), ground balls (11) and caused turnovers (10).

Gabby scored at least one goal in all six games on the year, including a season-high three goals on two separate occasions. Meanwhile, she ranked 14th in the entire conference with 13 goals.

The All-Skyline Second Team nomination was the third of Castles' career, as claimed spots in her freshman and sophomore seasons as well. Her junior season was canceled after just one game due to COVID-19, so no awards were issued last season.

Meanwhile, Castles' classmate in Bongiovanni (Wallkill, NY) earned praise from the Skyline Conference too, by being named to the All-Skyline Sportsmanship Team.

The All-Sportsmanship Team is comprised of players who are well-respected on their team and throughout the conference, and who show a great deal of respect for the sport and opponents in general.

As a result, Bongiovanni was a natural choice, as she has been one of the conscientious players in Purchase history. In addition to spending three years with the women's lacrosse team, Vic is also a three-year member of the women's swim and volleyball teams.

As for her play on the lacrosse field, Bongionvanni finished her senior year with two ground balls in six starts.

Castles and Bongiovanni are set to graduate later this month, along with their senior teammates in Maddy Mecca (Oceanside, NY) and Jade Porter-Fraser (Bronx, NY).
