NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball was defeated in straight sets Saturday afternoon, falling to Baruch College in a non-conference matchup.
Set scores for the game were 25-5, 25-10 and 25-13.
Baruch (2-9) hit .302 overall on the day with 29 kills and only 10 errors. In sets one and two, the hosts totaled hitting percentages of .375 and .474, which helped them cruise to easy wins.
For the guests, Purchase (0-5) struggled throughout the afternoon, finishing with 11 kills on -.226 hitting. The Panthers did manage to keep the third set close for the early portion though, before a late rally handed Baruch the set and match.
Individually, Purchase was led by
Pamella Gonzalez (JR/Bronx, NY), who recorded three kills, an ace and four digs.
Samantha Fasce (JR/Yorktown Heights, NY) compiled six digs, two blocks and a kill, while
Karina Medina (SR/Brooklyn, NY) added five assists, a kill and a block in the loss.
For Baruch, Sarah Chung (FR/Staten Island, NY) led all players with 11 kills.
