PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase women's tennis team dropped a non-conference home match to Baruch College, 7-2, Thursday afternoon.
After losing the first and second doubles matches, the host Panthers (3-2) got on the board with a win at third doubles. The No. 3 pairing of
Julie Shuett (SR/Northport, NY) and
Isabel Biagiotti (SR/Highland Mills, NY) downed Arielle Rabizadeh and Kelly Contreras, 8-3, to bring Purchase within one score of the visiting Bearcats.
Baruch (4-0) fired back in singles play with a 3-0 run. The match decision came with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 4 spot.
Kali Secrest (SO/Hartsdale, NY) notched the only win for Purchase in singles action with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 victory at the No. 6 spot.
Up next, Purchase heads to neighboring Skyline foe Manhattanville College. The league matchup is set for this Sunday at 11 a.m.
