PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball was defeated by the Rams of Farmingdale State College Thursday evening, falling in straight sets to the Skyline Conference foe.
Set scores for the match were 25-15, 25-5 and 25-13.
To begin the night, Purchase (0-7 overall, 0-3 Skyline) played well, keeping the score close. The Panthers scored three of the first four points and held a lead of 7-6, before the experience of the Rams (7-8, 3-0 Skyline) started to take over.
From that point on, the guests scored six-straight points to snatch the lead, 12-7, and never gave it back the rest of the set.
In the second frame, Farmingdale cruised to a win, scoring 22 of the first 25 points. Finally, the Rams raced out to another big lead in set three, to close out the stanza and match.
In all, Farmingdale finished with 34 kills on .259 hitting, while the Panthers tallied 10 kills and a -.088 hitting mark.Â
Individually, Purchase got three kills apiece from
Hadiyah Phillips (SR/Pleasantville, NY) and
Lilith Bastek-Ochoa (FR/Sag Harbor, NY).
Pamella Gonzalez (JR/Bronx, NY) added a team-high nine digs, while
Karina Medina (SR/Brooklyn, NY) led the squad in assists with eight.Â
