PATCHOGUE, NY – The Purchase College men's basketball team dropped an 88-52 Skyline Conference decision against St. Joseph's College (LI) inside the Danzi Center Wednesday evening.

Justin Mason (Staten Island, NY) and
Matthew Phillips (Bronx, NY) paced the Panther offense with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Phillips also pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
Alec Tabada led the way for SJC, scoring 17 points with five rebounds while shooting 7-for-12 from the field. Senior Matthew Hirdt chipped in with 12 points, including 4-for-7 from three-point range.
Purchase was held to 30.9% shooting from the field for the game. The Panthers trailed by as much as 24 in the first half and entered the break behind the hosts, 40-18.
St. Joe's went on an 11-0 run to begin the second half, extending their lead to 51-18. They consistently held a lead of around 30 points for the remainder of the game, then led by a game-high 39 points following a Becir Hot jumper with just under five minutes left on the clock.
The game—Purchase's eighth in just 16 days—dropped the Panthers to 3-12 overall and 3-5 in the Skyline. SJC improved to 9-7 on the season and 5-4 in the league.
