PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team was defeated by Manhattanville College Tuesday night, dropping the Skyline Conference matchup in straight sets.
Scores for the match were 25-7, 25-12 and 25-12.
With the result, the Panthers dropped to 2-13 overall and 1-5 in the league. For the Valiants, they improved to 13-4 and 5-1, respectively.
On the night, Manhattanville set the tone early and never let up. Over the course of the three sets, the Valiants ripped off seven separate rallies of at least five points, including a match-best 11 points in set three.
For the Panthers, the guests struggled to match the hitting of the Valiants. In total, Purchase tallied just six kills on -.185 hitting. In comparison, the hosts recorded 34 kills and .284 hitting.
Individually,
Karina Medina (SR/Brooklyn, NY) led the way for Purchase, as she recorded team-high marks in aces (3), assists (5) and digs (7).
Samantha Fasce (SR/Yorktown Heights, NY) and
Lauren White (JR/Washington, DC) each tallied two kills in the effort.
