NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team was defeated at Mount Saint Mary College Saturday afternoon, falling to the Skyline Conference foe in straight sets.
Set scores for the contest were 25-11, 25-14 and 25-12.
With the loss, the Panthers dropped to 3-16 overall and 2-7 in the league. For the Knights of Mount St. Mary, they jumped to 10-12 and 5-3, respectively.
Solid hitting led the hosts in the win, as the Black and Blue recorded 33 kills on .286 hitting.
For the Blue and Orange of Purchase, the team started the day with pretty good numbers in the opening set, before regressing over the final two frames.
Overall, the Panthers finished with 18 kills and a .000 hitting percentage.Â
Individually,
Samantha Fasce (SR/Yorktown Heights, NY) compiled seven kills and five digs to pace Purchase.
Lilith Bastek-Ochoa (SO/Sag Harbor, NY) added four kills and seven digs, while
Karina Medina (SR/Brooklyn, NY) totaled 16 assists, six digs and two kills in the effort.
Up next for the women's volleyball team is penultimate match of the 2022 season, as the Panthers travel to U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on October 25th.
