NEW YORK, N.Y. – Purchase College snapped its two-game losing streak with a commanding 9-0 victory at CUNY John Jay on Friday.
With the non-conference win, the Panthers moved to 4-3 on the season. The host Bloodhounds dropped to 2-5 overall.
Second doubles opened up scoring action as
Olivia Menchell and
Elaina Coppola teamed up to defeat Dakota Himaya and Kenya Kisson, 8-2. The top-seeded duo of
Nikita Kordzielewska and
Sophia Cenatiempo were next in line to score, 8-4, before a win by walkover at the third spot awarded Purchase a 3-0 advantage heading into singles play.
The Panthers stayed hot for all six singles matches en route to a dominating 9-0 shutout victory.
Up next, the Panthers play host to the Rams of Farmingdale State. The Skyline Conference match (rescheduled from Oct. 1) is set for this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
