PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's basketball team was defeated in a Skyline Conference matchup Tuesday evening, falling to the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College-Long Island by the score of 91-29.
With the loss, the Panthers are now 1-16 overall and 1-13 in the conference. Meanwhile, the win pushed the Golden Eagles to 11-6 and 8-6, respectively.
From the get-go Tuesday, the hosts cruised to a big lead and never looked back.Â
St. Joseph's-Long Island scored the opening seven points of the game, before concluding the first quarter on a 19-0 run to carry a 31-2 lead after one period. At haltime, that margin had extended to 55-8.
Individually,
Miya Ritchie (SR/Harlem, NY) led Purchase with nine points, while
Kasia Morrison (SO/Bronx, NY) added eight points and five rebounds.
Jules Martinez (SR/Brooklyn, NY) grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in the loss.
