New York, N.Y. – Less than 24 hours after competing on their home court, the Purchase College men's volleyball team traveled to Baruch College for a non-conference matchup hosted by the Bulldogs.
The Panthers closed the Thursday evening battle in defeat, 3-0 (8-25, 13-25, 17-25).
Senior hitters
Jeremiah Huntt (Bronx, NY) and
Joe Higgins (Bayside, NY) combined for 13 of Purchase's 16 total kills. Huntt finished with eight kills (.091) and seven digs, while Higgins tallied five kills (.154), three digs and a team-best three service aces.
Junior setter
Idris Idris (Bronx, NY) chipped in with seven digs ands assisted the team 11 times throughout the match.
Baruch's Jack Centeno (.545) and Defeng Han (.417) led the home team with six kills apiece. Centeno netted a game-high six aces, followed by teammates Ryan Oommen and Carlos Rodriguez with three apiece. Stallone Shankar dished out a match-high 21 assists, while Oommen chipped in 10 more.
The Panthers return to their home court on Thursday (Feb. 26) for a non-conference match against Misericordia University. Match start is set for 6 p.m.
