PURCHASE, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent rallied from a two-goal deficit late and went on to upend Purchase, 9-8, in overtime Saturday afternoon.
The Skyline Conference opener—originally scheduled at Mount's campus—was played on the Purchase turf due to poor field conditions.
Mount (2-5, 1-0 SKY) trailed 6-4 in the third quarter but went on to outscore Purchase 4-2 over the final 20 minutes of regulation.
Down 8-7, Purchase (2-5, 1-0 SKY) netted an equalizer to send the game into overtime. Panther junior 
Angus Goldman (Palisades, NY) notched the timely goal—his fifth of the season—unassisted with less than two minutes left on the clock.
The Dolphins won the opening faceoff in overtime on a Purchase violation and followed with a shot that went high over the PC post. Purchase netminder 
Will Boes (FR/Pleasantville, NY) picked up the ground ball but the clear attempt failed, resulting in a PC turnover.  
Less than a minute later, a Mount blunder gave Purchase another opportunity in the attacking third but moment was quickly erased. A caused turnover from Mount's Jake Luxoro ignited a possession that afforded Jacob Cochran to play hero and net the game-winning goal with 22 seconds left on the clock.
Purchase saw goals from a slew of players, led by 
Ben Erkan (SR/Bellport, NY) and 
Zach Collins (FR/Victor, NY). The Panther duo produced two goals and an assist each for a combined six points. Goldman added a pair of goals and four ground balls, while Connor Schwenker (SR/Westhampton Beach, NY) and 
Joe Ely (JR/North Salem, NY) rounded out the Panther scoring with one goal apiece. Schwenker and 
Cristian Ishoo (SR/Tarrytown, NY) tied the team-high in assists (2), and Ely led all players with a match-best six ground balls. 
Riley Donovan (SO/Billerica, NY) paced the Panthers in caused turnovers with two, while also collecting three ground balls.
Cochran, Joseph Santana and Gio Jean-Pharus led MSV with two goals apiece, Patrick Nagy, Albert Dore and Ryan Jean-Pharus chipped in with one goal each.
Despite being tagged with the loss, Boes (4-3) tallied an impressive 18 saves for Purchase.
Mount keeper Sawyer Davis finished with 14 saves.
Purchase looks to bounce back from Saturday's loss as it continues its Skyline slate this Friday (Apr. 7). The Panthers will play host to neighboring Manhattanville College under the lights at 7 p.m.
