PURCHASE, N.Y. – Purchase College softball battled the Knights of Mount Saint Mary College for the second time this season after game two of the Apr. 14 doubleheader was rescheduled. Today's matchup fell in favor of the host Knights as they defeated the Panthers, 12-0, in 4.5 innings.
The loss drops Purchase to 10-12 overall and 6-4 in the Skyline, while MSMC moves to 12-11 on the season and 9-1 in the league.
The Mount took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first and scattered another seven across the next three innings to secure the win. Samantha Bendig highlighted the victory with a 4-RBI homerun in the first, while Bridget Morris was a bright spot in the circle as she earned her third shutout of the season.
