MAHWAH, N.J. - The Purchase College men's tennis team was defeated at Ramapo College Friday afternoon, falling in the non-conference matchup by the score of 8-1.
With the result, the Panthers are now 2-7 overall. Meanwhile, the Roadrunners improved to 6-4 with the victory.
It was a tough match for the guests, as Ramapo raced out to an earlier lead on the day.
The hosts cruised to three-straight wins in doubles, before taking the No. 2-6 matches in singles play.
Purchase's lone win of the contest come at No. 1 singles, as
Julian Szuper (SR/New York, NY) beat his opponent, 4-3, following a retirement from play.
Outside of the win,
Nikita Kordzielewska (JR/Stepinica, Poland) battled valiantly at the No. 6 spot, eventually falling by the score of 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.
Up next for the Panthers is a return to Skyline Conference action, as the team travels to Manhattanville College tomorrow (4/23) at 10 a.m.
