PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team was defeated on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to Manhattanville College by the score of 8-1.
With the result, the Panthers are now 2-8 overall and 1-3 in Skyline Conference games. Meanwhile, the Valiants moved to 8-5 and 5-0, respectively.
The hosts dominated all-match long, winning six contests in straight sets. In the other two victories, the Valiants dropped 10 games but no sets along the way.
As for the Panthers, their lone win came at No. 1 singles, as
Julian Szuper (SR/New York, NY) outlasted his opponent - 6-7, 7-6, 12-10.
For the season, Szuper is now 7-2 in singles matches and all at the top-flight position.
Up next for Purchase is a return to its home court, as the Orange and Blue host Sarah Lawrence College on April 27th at 3 p.m.
