PURCHASE, N.Y - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team closed out their 2022 home slate Wednesday afternoon with a loss to Farmingdale State College, 16-0.
The Rams (7-7 overall, 5-1 Skyline) raced out to an early lead in the contest and never relented.
The guests notched three goals in the first quarter, before exploding for seven goals in the second frame to lead 10-0 at the break. Farmingdale then added five more in the third and one more in the fourth to complete the win.
For Purchase (1-9, 0-6 Skyline), the team finished with eight shots in the loss, as
Brienne Westfall (JR/Grand Island, NY) led the way with three.
Dara Studnitzer (SR/Glen Cove, NY) tallied three ground balls and two draw controls, while
Katie Borger (SR/Bellmore, NY) recorded two draw controls, two caused turnovers, two ground balls and two shots.
In goal,
Casandra Schmoger (JR/Islip, NY) collected 20 saves and caused two turnovers.
Up next for the Panthers is the season finale, as the team travels to the United States Merchant Marine Academy on April 30th. That game is set to begin at 11 a.m.
