BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Pratt Institute Wednesday night inside Pratt Arc.
Pratt (4-2) jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as the Cannoneers won the three sets by scores of 25-5, 25-6 and 25-12.
The hosts combined for 16 service aces and hit .262 as a team. Senior libero Deanna Colondona paced the Cannoneer offense with an impressive seven, while teammate Olivia Julich registered seven kills on 14 attempts with two errors (.357). Hannah Leitten tossed up 11 of the team's 19 assists.
For Purchase (1-4), sophomore outside hitter
Lilith Bastek-Ochoa (Sag Harbor, NY) finished with two kills and a pair of digs.
Anya Febus-Fernandez (SR/Staten Island, NY) led all defensive players with five digs, while
Samantha Fasce (SR/Yorktown Heights, NY) collected three digs and two assists.
The Panthers are back on the road this Friday to take on the City College of New York Beavers in a non-conference match set for 7 p.m.
