FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team suffered a Skyline Conference loss at Farmingdale State College Thursday night, dropping the match in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-10, 25-16 and 25-14.
With the result, the Panthers now sit at 1-9 overall and 1-2 in the league. For the Rams, they are now 3-7 and 2-1, respectively.
To begin the contest, Purchase scored four of the first six points to secure an early advantage. The margin was short lived though, as Farmingdale responded by closing out the set on a 23-6 run.
While the opening set ended as a lopsided affair, the middle frame was much closer between the two foes. It wasn't until midway through that things changed, as the hosts used a late rally to turn a 14-13 game into a 25-16 win.
In the final frame of the night, the Rams started hot and never relented as they cruised to the set and match victory.
Overall, the Panthers finished with 14 kills on .031 hitting. Meanwhile, Farmingdale tallied numbers of 37 kills and .301 hitting.
Individually,
Lauren White (JR/Washington, D.C.) finished with team-high marks in kills (4) and digs (10).Â
Karina Medina (SR/Brooklyn, NY) chipped in eight assists, three kills and three digs in the defeat.
