NEW HAVEN, Conn - The Purchase College women's volleyball team made its 2022 debut Saturday afternoon, dropping a pair of matches at the Albertus Magnus University tri-match.
Set scores for the opening contest against Albertus Magnus were 25-20, 25-13 and 25-12. In the subsequent matchup vs. Fisher College, the Panthers again fell in straight sets — 25-16, 25-8 and 25-8.
For the day, senior
Samantha Fasce (Yorktown Heights, NY) finished as the team leader in kills with nine across the two matches.
On the defensive end of things, fellow senior
Karina Medina (Brooklyn, NY) tallied 21 digs all together to pace Purchase. She also recorded 13 assists over the two defeats.
Junior
Lauren White showed her skill playing in her first collegiate match for the Panthers Saturday, finishing with four kills on .273 hitting and six digs.
On the day, Purchase as a team hit -.053 and -.183, respectively. The contests also marked the start of the
Louis Sepulveda era for the Panthers, after the head coach was hired back in May.
