PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team was defeated at home Tuesday night, falling to St. Joseph's University-Long Island in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-8, 25-12 and 25-15.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 4-12 overall and 2-5 in the Skyline Conference. For the Golden Eagles, they jumped to 10-6 and 5-1, respectively.
On the night, the guests used early and long runs to create separation between themselves and Purchase, as the Blue and Orange couldn't find the run needed to rally back.
Overall, the Panthers hit -.183 with seven kills in the effort. For St. Joseph's, it hit .324 with 33 kills.
Individually,
Lilith Bastek-Ochoa (JR/Sag Harbor, NY) collected three kills and two aces, while
Ava Landreth (FR/Brooklyn, NY) added two kills and a block.
Lauren White (JR/Washington, DC) totaled 10 digs and block, and
Natalia Leite (FR/Thornwood, NY) recorded six assists and two aces.
Up next for the Panthers is more Skyline action, as they travel to Maritime College on October 12th. That match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
