PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team was defeated by the United States Merchant Marine Academy Tuesday night, dropping the Skyline Conference matchup in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-6, 25-10 and 25-7.Â
With the result, the Panthers moved to 4-16 overall and 2-7 in the league. For the Mariners, they jumped to 11-7 and 7-1, respectively.
The Blue and Orange finished with 11 kills on -.149 hitting in the effort, as
Lilith Bastek-Ochoa (JR/Sag Harbor, NY) led the way with four kills and an ace.
Natalia Leite (FR/Thornwood, NY) totaled eight assists, while
Maya Brown (FR/Carteret, NJ) recorded seven digs and an ace.
For the guests, they dominated from start to finish, compiling 39 kills on .459 hitting.Â
Up next for the Panthers is more Skyline action as the team travels to Brooklyn to face the Bears of St. Joseph's. That contest is set to begin at 7 p.m. on October 19th.
