PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference matchup Friday night, falling to Brooklyn College in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-13, 25-10 and 25-13.
With the loss, the Panthers moved to 4-18 overall. For the Bulldogs, they jumped to 9-11.
Long runs were the theme of the night, as the guests used early advantages in the opening two frames to cruise to wins.
In the third set, the two sides played tight action early, before Brooklyn scored the final nine points of the set to secure the victory.
Overall, Purchase finished with 11 kills on -.143 hitting, while the Bulldogs finished with marks of 31 and .241, respectively.
Ava Landreth (FR/Brooklyn, NY) led the Panthers with six kills and an ace, while
Marcella Pena (FR/Bronx, NY tallied three kills.
Natalia Leite (FR/Thornwood, NY) collected seven assists, and
Sienna Cruz (Brooklyn, NY) recorded a career-high 11 digs.Â
