PURCHASE, N.Y. – Purchase College men's lacrosse dropped a tough non-conference matchup, 16-2, against Drew University Wednesday evening.
The host Rangers (3-2) broke open the scoring in the first two minutes of play with an unassisted goal by Brett Spafford. Drew rattled off another six unanswered goals to stretch its lead to 7-0 at the half.
With just under three minutes remaining in the third quarter, Purchase (1-1) broke through the scoring ice thanks to the offensive effort of senior midfielder

The Rangers pushed back with a trio of goals to take a generous 15-1 lead before freshman midfielder
Shakim Carr (Brooklyn, NY) netted the second and final goal for Purchase with 10 minutes left on the clock.
Mike DeMayo led the home team with a notable four goals and four assists, while Craig Wilkie's hat trick performance was also a highlight of the evening.
Purchase will return to action next Tuesday (Mar. 7) for the team's home-opener against Dean College at 7 p.m.
