Following the loss, the hosts looked to change their fortunes in the final contest.Â
Purchase started well, taking the opening set after a close battle. The Bears of St. Joseph's then responded with back-to-back set wins in the second and third frames, before the Panthers tied things up with a dominating performance in set four.
During the set win, the hosts finished with 11 kills to just one error and hit .333 overall. With the performance, the Blue and Orange forced a fifth and final set to decide the match.

Following the swap, the hosts continued to lead as they paced the guests 12-9.
However, six-straight points from the Bears completely flipped the game, and handed the guests the victory to stun Purchase.
In the end, the contest was extremely even between the two sides, as they each finished with at least 44 kills and hit over .100 for the match.
Individually, Garguilo recorded 26 kills across the five-set thriller, which easily surpassed his career-high mark of 14 kills set back in January.
