FLORIDA - The Purchase College baseball team wrapped up its week-long trip to the Sunshine State Wednesday afternoon, completing five games in five days.
From March 18-22, the Panthers faced off against New York University, Knox College, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Keuka College and Hope College.

March 18 - NYU 23, Purchase 8
Originally scheduled as a doubleheader, the Panthers played NYU just once to begin their trip. The contest was played at George M. Steinbrenner Field, which is the Spring Training Park for the New York Yankees down in Tampa.
Making the contest even more special for the Panthers was an assistant coach on the NYU staff - Frank Delgado - who is a 2010 Purchase College graduate and alum of the baseball team. The coach posed for photos with the current squad before the game as seen on story cover photo.
NYU went on to win the matchup, whileÂ
Elian Herrera (JR/Yonkers, NY) powered the Blue and Orange offense with a double, three RBIs and one run.
Cameron Cruz (SO/Bronx, NY) tallied two hits, one RBI and one run in the loss.
March 19 - Knox 7, Purchase 2
Day two of the trip saw Purchase play its lone doubleheader of the week as the Panthers first battled Knox College.
Tyler Della Mura (FR/Rye Brook, NY) totaled a pair of hits, including a double, and knocked in a run.
On the mound,
Cass Muller (JR/Brooklyn, NY) tossed 3 2/3 innings of shutout baseball and struckout four in a relief effort.
March 19 - Wisconsin-Eau 12, Purchase 4
In the second game of the day, the Panthers were outpaced by the Blugolds, after the Wisconsin squad scored 11 of the first 12 runs.
Joe Salerno (SO/White Plains, NY) finished with a pair of hits and an RBI, while
Mason Compton (SO/Carmel, NY) scored a pair of runs, walked once and singled.
March 21 - Keuka 4, Purchase 3
Following a day off, Purchase was back in action against a fellow New York school, Keuka College.
In the closest game of the trip, the Blue and Orange nearly rallied for a comeback win in the bottom of the ninth, before ultimately falling short.
Matt Castrogiovanni (FR/Massapequa Park, NY),
Myles Scarry (JR/Levittown, NY) and
Jemal Betances (SR/Bronx, NY) each finished with two hits apiece.
March 22 - Hope 14, Purchase 4 (7 inn)
Finally, the Panthers closed out their trip earlier this afternoon with a defeat to Hope College.
Despite the final score, the contest was quite close throughout and actually tied heading into the bottom of the seventh at 4-4. However, a 10-run frame from Hope sealed the game for the Michigan school as Purchase left the trip winless.
Liam Daly (FR/Babylon, NY) recorded two runs and a single at the plate, and started the game on the mound. He went 3.0 innings, allowed four runs (three earned) on two hits and tallied three K's.
With the results, the Panthers moved to 5-7 overall on the young season.
The squad returns to action this weekend back in New York, as they open Skyline Conference play at Mount Saint Mary College on March 26. First pitch of game one is set for noon.Â
