JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Purchase College men's volleyball was defeated by New Jersey City University Tuesday night, dropping the Skyline Conference matchup in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-11, 25-15 and 25-17.
With the result, the Panthers fell to 4-19 overall and 2-10 in the Skyline. For the Gothic Knights, they improved to 16-8 and 9-3, respectively.
From the get-go, the hosts established themselves as dominant force on the night, scoring four of the first five points, and nine of the first 12.
For the Blue and Orange, they couldn't overcome the quick start that NJCUÂ produced in all three sets.
Overall, Purchase finished with 11 kills on -.060 hitting, while the hosts recorded 42 kills and .299 hitting.
Individually,
Chris Posillico (SR/Saltaire, NY) paced the guests with four kills and six digs.
Luca Spadinger (FR/Loudonville, NY led the team in points with 4.5 (three kills, one ace and one block assist), while
Idris Idris (SR/Bronx, NY) totaled nine assists and seven digs.Â
