PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team was defeated in straight sets Monday night, falling to Regis College in a non-conference matchup.
Scores for the contest were 25-14, 25-16 and 25-18. With the result, the Panthers are now 3-9 overall and Regis is 6-8.
It was a tale of two contests for the squads Monday, as the two sides recorded totally different hitting numbers.
For the hosts, they struggled with a -.038 hitting percentage and 17 kills, while Regis dominated with 38 kills and .379 hitting.
As a result, the guests cruised to wins in sets one and two, before pulling out set three late to seal the matchup.
Individually,
Marcus Garguilo (SO/Port Washington, NY) finished with eight kills, while
Luca Spadinger (FR/Loudonville, NY) added six kills.
Idris Idris (SR/Bronx, NY) finished with team-high totals in assists (16), digs (9) and aces (4) in the loss.
