PURCHASE, N.Y. - New look, same family, and an unbreakable legacy.
After more than two decades, Purchase College Athletics is beyond excited to unveil a new icon of the department - a brand new logo.
The logo, which features a panther head looking left, as it opens its mouth to roar, embraces the Blue and Orange color scheme that has become an iconic identifier of the department's branding.

The new design ushers the program into the 21st century and beyond with a sleek, modern style in its aesthetic, while also echoing the previous iteration of the logo.
One of the major brainchildren for the new look was Shane Seaman, the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at Purchase College. Seaman revealed that the main focus and idea of the new branding was to, "give it a traditional school mascot feel but make it unique. For the look to be fierce."
The new logo certainly embraces those ideas, as it focuses on the panthers' face, in contrast to a full-body leaping feline and the "PC" lettering of old.

 The previous logo, which was created back in 2002 by a former student via a logo creation contest, served as the face of the program for the past 20 years. During that stretch, the Panthers became members of the NCAA, the Skyline Conference and won numerous league titles.
While the older logo will be phased out, the legacy it leaves behind will be essential in bridging the gap between the old and the new.
And don't fret, with this new logo leading the charge, Purchase College Athletics is ready to prey upon the competition for years to come.
