PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team was defeated by St. Joseph's University-Long Island Friday afternoon, dropping the Skyline Conference matchup by the score of 19-0.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the league. For the Golden Eagles, the win pushed them to 3-4 and 2-1, respectively.
The guests began the contest with 10 goals in the opening period, before adding six more in the second quarter to lead 16-0 at halftime.
For the hosts,
Alyssa Kozak (JR/East Meadow, NY) totaled two shots and three ground balls in the effort.
Julieth Velasquez (FR/White Plains, NY) recorded a shot and a ground ball, whileÂ
Brienne Westfall (SR/Grand Island, NY) collected two draw controls.Â
In goal,
Casandra Schmoger (SR/Islip, NY) finished with 12 saves, four ground balls and one caused turnover.
