NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Purchase College women's soccer played Brooklyn College to a scoreless 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers put forth a strong offensive effort, holding a 24-4 edge in shots (12-3 on goal) against the host Bulldogs, but the scoring opportunities came up short in the non-conference decision.
Following its third tie across four games, Purchase remains undefeated at 1-0-3 while Brooklyn stands at 0-3-1 overall.
Rebecca Quick (JR/Millbrook, NY) and Emily Giron (FR/Newburgh, NY) led the Panther attack in shots on goal with three apiece. Julieth Velasquez (SO/White Plains, NY) and Lindita Selmani (FR/Brooklyn, NY) combined for another four attempts, while Molly McGarvey (JR/Buffalo, NY) logged one shot on target.
Brooklyn goalie Angelina Vasta finished with 12 saves to keep hope alive for the hosts.
Purchase's defense logged its second-consecutive shutout of the season, anchored by sophomore goalkeeper Carolyn Hough's (Massapequa, NY) two saves in Saturday's clean sheet.
The Panthers will continue their non-conference road schedule on Wednesday (Sept. 13) in Morristown, NJ against Saint Elizabeth University. Kick off is slated for 4 p.m.
