Men's Soccer Ties Program Record with 10 Goals

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's soccer team tied its program record for goals in a game with 10 Monday night, as the Panthers rolled to a massive home win over Medgar Evers College.

The 10 strikes matched what the squad achieved back on October 4, 2011, when the Panthers bested St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn, 10-0.

For Monday night, the Blue and Orange prevailed 10-1, scoring six times in the first half alone.

Individually, Ermin Mackic (FR/Yonkers, NY) finished with four goals and two assists, as he continued to be a dominating force on offense.

Fellow freshmen Oliver Broun (Athens, GA) and Matthew Cuartas (Greenwich, CT) each recorded a pair of goals, while captains Bart Moroney (JR/Breezy Point, NY) and Leo Conte (SR/New York, NY) tallied one goal apiece.

In goal, Adam Tobar (FR/Mineola, NY) finished with a pair of saves during his first collegiate victory.

With the win, the Panthers moved to 5-2 overall. For the Cougars, they dropped to 0-5-1.

Up next for Purchase is a return to Skyline Conference action as the team welcomes Sarah Lawrence College on September 27th at 7 p.m.
