PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's tennis team dominated York College in a 7-0 sweep on Tuesday evening. With the victory, the Panthers improved to 5-2 overall, while the Cardinals dropped to 0-3.

The Blue and Orange secured all three doubles matches with relative ease. At No. 1 doubles, Amelia Perlmutter (SO/Rutherford, NJ) and Olivia Menchell (SR/Los Angeles, CA) took a commanding 6-0 win, while the duo of Emma Arnaud (JR/YFarmington, NY) and Novalie Nguyen (JR/Macedon, NY) won 6-1 at the No. 2 spot. Sierra Blanco (JR/New York, NY) and Lilia Qi (FY/Buffalo, NY) completed the sweep with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, the Panthers cruised through the competition. Perlmutter and Menchell each won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, with Menchell not dropping a single game. Arnaud, Nguyen, and Blanco all secured 6-0, 6-0 victories at the No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 singles spots. Making her collegiate debut at No. 6 singles, Sadie Killebrew (SO/Brooklyn, NY) rallied from a set down to win the second set and then a split-set tiebreaker, 10-5.

Up next, Purchase will take on Mount Saint Mary College in Skyline Conference action on October 5th at 4:00 p.m.
