YONKERS, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's soccer team was defeated by Sarah Lawrence College, 9-0, in Skyline Conference action Tuesday night. With the loss, the Panthers drop to 3-10-1 overall and 1-5-0 in conference play, while the Gryphons improved to 8-5-1 and 5-1-1, respectively.
Sarah Lawrence took control early, with the first goal netted just 2:59 into the match. The Gryphons continued their offensive pressure throughout, registering 9 goals by the final whistle.
Despite the tough result, Lindita Selmani (SO/Brooklyn, NY) led the Panthers' efforts with two shots on goal, while Emily Giron (SO/Newburgh, NY) added another shot.
Goalkeepers Jill Creegan (FY/High Falls, NY) and Carolyn Hough (JR/Plainedge, NY) split time in net, combining for 10 saves against 40 shots, 19 of which were on target.
Purchase is back on the road as they take on Maritime College on October 11th, with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m.
