RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's basketball team was defeated at the University of Mount Saint Vincent Saturday afternoon, falling by the score of 69-37.
With the result, the Panthers now sit at 1-18 overall and 1-15 in Skyline Conference matchups. For the Dolphins, they jumped to 15-5 and 11-4, respectively.
Individually,
Jessica McHugh (FY/Ellenville, NY) led the effort with a career and game-high 16 points and six rebounds.
Aysiah Clinton (FY/Portland, OR) added nine points, six assists and four rebounds, while
Kaylena Phagnasay (FY/Fresno, CA) chipped in seven points and three steals.
Overall, the Blue and Orange shot 23% from the field. For the hosts, they finished with a 38.7% shooting percentage.
As for the contest, Mount Saint Vincent raced to an early advantage and never looked back. The Dolphins opened the game with a 17-0 run, and led 32-7 at halftime.
Up next for the Panthers is a return home, as the squad welcomes SUNY Old Westbury on February 6th at 6 p.m.
