New York, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team suffered a tough loss in their season opener on Tuesday against Baruch College by the score of 9-0.

With the result, the Panthers are now 0-1 overall. For the Bearcats, they advanced to 2-1.

Despite a valiant effort from the first doubles duo of Eli Palagatshev (SO/Yonkers, NY) and Yuta Kawamura (SO/Old Greenwich, CT), who ultimately lost 8-6, Baruch College secured all three victories in doubles.

In singles play, the home team dominated, clinching the first two sets in every matchup, securing a clean sweep.

Looking ahead, the Panthers will travel to Ramapo College on March 14th for a 4 p.m start time.
