Men's Lacrosse Falls Short Against Rosemont College

Rosemont, P.A. - In a hard-fought battle on Wednesday evening, the Purchase College men's lacrosse team faced defeat against Rosemont College, with a final score of 16-13.

With this result, the Blue and Orange's overall record stands at 1-4, while the home team improved to 2-3.

The Panthers began the game with a promising start, as goalie Will Boes (JR/Pleasantville, NY) made an early save and Shakim Carr (SO/Brooklyn, NY) scored the opening goal just four minutes into the first quarter.

However, Rosemont quickly responded with two goals of their own, ending the quarter with a narrow lead of 2-1.

Starting the second, Ryan Lubowitz (SO/Stamford, CT) tied the score, but the Ravens countered immediately with back-to-back goals. Purchase managed to keep the score level at 5-5 throughout the quarter before Rosemont secured another goal just before halftime, leading 6-5.

Despite halftime adjustments, Purchase struggled to find their footing as the home team extended their lead with four consecutive goals. The Blue and Orange fought hard to narrow the deficit, but Rosemont maintained a two-goal lead at 13-11 going into the final quarter.

Throughout the remainder of the game, the Ravens maintained control despite the Panthers' efforts, ultimately securing the victory with a final score of 16-13.

Individually, Carr led the Panthers with eight points, scoring three goals and providing five assists. Dylan Cassone (FY/Farmingdale, NY) contributed five goals, while Lubowitz added three.

On the defensive end, Cameron Savoca (FY/Nesconset, NY) secured a career-high five ground balls.

Boes made 10 saves against 26 shots on goal, bringing his record to 1-3 for the season.

Up next, the team prepares to travel to Cairn University on March 16th at 2 p.m.
