Panthers Roll Past Yeshiva in Straight Sets

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team earned its second win in the last four days over Yeshiva University Wednesday night, besting its Skyline Conference rival in straight sets.

Scores for the contest were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-20.

With the result, the Panthers are now 10-7 overall and 5-1 in conference action. For the Maccabees, they dropped to 0-19 and 0-10, respectively.

Much like the contest from March 10th, this one was all Blue and Orange. Purchase finished with 37 kills on .279 hitting in the win, while Yeshiva tallied 16 kills on -.013 hitting.

Long-scoring runs were the theme of the night for the Panthers, as they recorded five streaks of at least four-straight points.

Individually, Channing Williams (FR/Neptune, NJ) continued to be the focal point of the Purchase offense, as he recorded 18 points on 14 kills, two aces and four block assists. He also led the team in digs with eight.

Meanwhile, Nate Matthie (FY/Bronx, NY) totaled 11 kills and two aces, while Mauricio Ramirez (FY/Passaic, NJ) added 16 assists.

Up next for the Panthers is another Skyline Conference tri-match, as the team travels to Long Island to face SUNY Old Westbury and St. Joseph's University-Long Island on March 16th. The first game is set to begin at noon.
