Purchase Earns Skyline Win Over SJBK

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team earned its second-straight Skyline Conference victory Thursday night, topping St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn in straight sets.

Scores for the contest were 25-16, 25-21 and 25-16.

With the performance, the Panthers are now 7-6 overall and 2-0 in the league. For the Bears, they dropped to 2-8 and 1-3, respectively.

From the get-go, the Blue and Orange dominated offensively as they enjoyed one of their best nights of the season. In total, they finished with 45 kills and just nine errors on .379 hitting over the three frames, as the result was never in doubt.

In sets one and three, early leads powered Purchase, while the middle frame played out closer until a late run sealed the triumph.

Individually, Tyler Ryan (JR/Port Reading, NJ) finished with a career and match-high 20 kills on .515 hitting, while also adding a team-high nine digs.

Channing Williams (FY/Neptune, NJ) collected 12 kills, an ace and two block assists, while Aidan Araza (FY/Jersey City, NJ) totaled 22 assists in the win.

Up next for the Panthers is a Skyline Conference tri-match at the University of Mount Saint Vincent on March 10th. The first contest against Yeshiva University is set to begin at 1 p.m.
