FRANKLIN, Mass. - The Purchase College men's lacrosse team was thwarted at Dean College on Saturday afternoon, falling by the score of 18-1.
With the result, the Blue and Orange are now 1-3 overall, while Dean jumped to 3-1.
Despite a resilient defensive effort from the guests early on, the score stood at 4-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Dean then surged in the second, netting eight goals to lead 12-0 at halftime.
The second half saw a further five goals from the Bulldogs, before Purchase managed to breach the opposing defense midway through the fourth quarter for its lone goal of the day.
Charley Jimenez (FY/Hempstead, NY) provided the strike off an assist from
Shakim Carr (SO/Brooklyn, NY), as the former also added a team-high three ground balls.
In goal,
Will Boes (JR/Pleasantville, NY) made 11 saves in 43 minutes, while
Sam Erlich (FY/Plainview, N.Y.) worked the final 17 minutes and had five saves.
The Panthers continue their road campaign at Rosemont College on March 13th at 4 p.m.
