PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team secured its first win of the 2024 season Sunday afternoon, besting St. Joseph's University-Long Island by the score of 8-1.
With the result, the Panthers are now 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the Skyline Conference. For the Golden Eagles, they dropped to 0-6 and 0-2, respectively.
The guests earned two of the first three wins of the day, taking the No. 1 and 2 doubles matchups by the scores of 8-2 and 8-1.
As play moved to singles action, the Blue and Orange saw no letdown, as they claimed all six contests to cruise to the win.

Eli Palagatshev (SO/Yonkers, NY) take his battle by the scores of 6-0, 6-2, while No. 2
Yuta Kawamura (SO/Old Greenwich, CT) won by the same score in reverse.
No. 3
Steve Mains (JR/Mount Kisco, NY) and No. 4
Oliver Culliton (JR/Boston, MA) earned victories with relative ease to seal the result for the Panthers.
Up next for the squad is more Skyline Conference action, as the team hosts Sarah Lawrence College on April 16th at 3 p.m.
