Women's Lacrosse Bested by Farmingdale State

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team was defeated at home Tuesday night, falling to Farmingdale State College, 20-1, in a Skyline Conference matchup.

With the result, the Panthers moved to 1-10 overall and 0-5 in the league. For the Rams, they jumped to 6-8 and 3-2, respectively.

For the Blue and Orange, their lone strike came midway through the first quarter, when Julieth Velasquez (SO/White Plains, NY) found the back of the net on an individual effort.

Outside of that, the night belonged to the guests. They scored the first three goals overall, led 9-1 after one quarter and 14-1 at halftime.

Individually, Velasquez led the way with two shots, two ground balls and four draw controls.

Alyssa Kozak (SR/East Meadow, NY) added six draw controls, three ground balls and one caused turnover, while Amani Jamal (JR/Hopewell Junction, NY) recorded five saves and a ground ball in the effort.

Up next for the Panthers is the final road game of the year, as they travel to the United States Merchant Marine Academy on April 20th at noon.
