KINGS POINT, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team was defeated Saturday afternoon, dropping a Skyline Conference matchup at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 19-0.

With the result, the Panthers are now 1-11 overall and 0-6 in the league. For the Mariners, they jumped to 9-2 and 6-0, respectively.

For the hosts, they raced out to 11 first quarter goals, before carrying a 14-0 lead into halftime.

On the day, the Blue and Orange finished with four shots overall in the effort.

Leading the way was Julieth Velasquez (SO/White Plains, NY), who tallied two shots, two ground balls and six draw controls.

Alyssa Kozak (SR/East Meadow, NY) and Elaina Coppola (SR/White Plains, NY) each recorded two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

In goal, Amani Jamal (JR/Hopewell Junction, NY) collected eight saves, eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Up next for Purchase is more Skyline action, as the team hosts the University of Mount Saint Vincent on April 24th at 7 p.m.
