Men's Tennis Defeated at Western Connecticut State University

DANBURY, C.T. - The Purchase College men's tennis team was defeated Friday afternoon, succumbing to Western Cooneticut State University by the score of 8-1.

With the result, the Blue and Orange are now 0-4 overall. For the Wolves, they advanced to 2-5.

The hosts claimed victory in all three doubles matchups, securing 18 out of the 24 games played.

Despite a resilient effort from Yuta Kawamura (SO/Old Greenwich, CT) and Steve Mains (JR/Mount Kisco, NY) at the No. 1 doubles spot, they were ultimately defeated 8-4. 

In the singles matches, Kawamura emerged victorious at No.1 singles, securing the sole win for the Panthers with scores of 6-4, 1-6, 10-5.

Oliver Culliton (JR/Boston, MA) fought valiantly at No.3 singles but fell short with scores of 6-4, 6-2.

Similarly, Pedro LLonch-Vidalle (SO/New York, NY) experienced a tough match at No. 5 singles, ultimately losing 6-2, 6-4.

Looking ahead, the Panthers are set for more road action as they prepare to face Brooklyn College on April 8th at 3:30 p.m.
